
Bhonpuram Khabari, Rudrapur: Boys of Amenity Public School located on Kashipur road in Udham Sigh Nagar district headquarters, Rudrapur showcased exceptional talent and determination in the 6th CBSE WSO National Subroto Mukherjee Football Championship for under-17 boys. The tournament, held from July 21 to 25 on the school campus, witnessed fierce competition as 24 states from all over India participated. The Amenity team won the tournament and reserved a berth for the finals to be held in Delhi.

On the first day, 24 matches were played, with Chief Referee Dinesh ji and Akhilesh Mandal overseeing the proceedings. Eight teams advanced to the next round by topping their respective pools. On the second day, qualifying rounds were held, with Amenity and teams from Calcutta, Rajasthan, and Jalandhar securing spots in the semi-finals.
In the semifinals, Sant Baba Bhag Singh from Jalandhar faced off against Amenity, leading to Amenity’s triumph. Amenity took an early lead in the finals, with Kushal Deuba scoring from a penalty. Despite Punjab’s efforts, Amenity’s efficient game saw them dominate the match, winning 5-1, which saw a hat trick from Rudu Kumar.
Chief Guest Dhirendra Singh Panwar, School Director Subhash Arora, and Principal Indra Tripathi presented the trophy and a cash prize of ₹51,000 to the winning team. CBSE’s Chief Coordinator ML Sahu and Observers Manish Kumar, Rajeev Singh, Team Coach Amit Verma, Koijam Rajendro, and Team Manager Mayank Sangdi witnessed the tournament. Amenity Public School will now progress to the national finals in Delhi, representing Uttarakhand.
